A kiss in every stitch

I am well on my way to stitching a Christmas Stocking for Master 10 this week.  I have always wanted to make Master 10 a christmas stocking that he would cherish way into adulthood and remember me every Christmas no matter where in the world he is.

Like a lot of stitcher's I have a stash of patterns that I would one day like to stitch and after sitting on this pattern for 10 years the time has come to take take up the challenge!   So for Master 10 I will be using a lovely cross stitch pattern from Shepherds Bush called Christians stocking.

I'm finding this pattern very easy to stitch and am enjoying using floba linen with DMC Perle cottons.  This is the first time I've used Perle cotton and I don't think it will be the last.

So this is where I'm up to after 6 hours of stitching - top boarder of stocking nearly complete and a little of Santa done!

As you can see I still have a long way to go but I've made sure I've put a kiss in every stitch,

I ♥ a handmade Christmas

I just ♥ a handmade Christmas and I have a sweet spot for lovely handmade Christmas decorations.  I'm also a fairly organised person when it comes to buying Christmas decorations and gifts - I always start my Christmas shopping early which prompted my search for decorations this week.

Ben & Jess are in the Press - Fluid Magazine

I was checking my Etsy store, Ben & Jess  this morning and couldn't work out why all of a sudden alot of people had paid me a visit.  All became clear when I checked my email.    The pink Bubushka Party Favor Bags that I sell in my little handmade store have been featured in Fluid Magazine (see item 7).

I actually burst into tears.  My son asked me if something was wrong.  No no nothing wrong I'm just so happy!   It takes a lot of hard work, time and sacrifices to run Ben & Jess and seeing my party favor bags in print made it all worth while and has given me the confidence to carry on with making and selling (I was actually thinking of giving up).

So thank you to Fluid Magazine for choosing me and giving me the courage to carry on with Ben & Jess.
